Zig Ziglar (11/6/26 – 11/28/12)

Zig Ziglar was a great motivational speaker.  He inspired so many to be better and to do better. His books include Born To Win and Over The Top.

Here are a few of his quotes from a Forbes article titled: 10 Quotes That Can Change Your Life

10) “Remember that failure is an event, not a person.”

9) “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.”

8 ) “People often say motivation doesn’t last. Neither does bathing—that’s why we recommend it daily.”

7) “There has never been a statue erected to honor a critic.”

6) “People don’t buy for logical reasons. They buy for emotional reasons.”

5) “Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes.”

4) “If you go looking for a friend, you’re going to find they’re scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhere.”

2012 NaNoWriMo – Day 27 – WINNER

Look at what I got today!

You know I was really excited when I uploaded my document and it came back saying WINNER!

Just thinking about the crazy month it has been and all that has been going on in my life, it was really great to see this.
And what makes it even better is that I finished just a day away from my java programming class beginning so now that will get the attention and focus that it deserves and definitely needs.

For those who are on their way and are almost there, keep writing.

2012 NaNoWriMo – Day 27

GOAL…finish NaNo in the next two days.

Is it possible to do? Of course. Will I do it? Of course. I’m only 4,430 words away from 50,000 words.
Wow! What a journey it has been. Believe me when I say that it hasn’t been easy at all.

I have actually been sitting here at work all day writing. I hate to say it but that’s the only way I’ve been able to complete NaNo this year.
It seems like there just isn’t enough hours in the day to get everything in and try to write. But I have to get it done. I have to learn how to balance it all because it is what I want to do.

Okay, gotta go do some more writing,
Get’r done,

2012 NaNoWriMo – Day 26

Day 26 of NaNo and I just keep chugging right along. I will reach my goal on Friday of 50,000 words. Write now it’s showing finishing on December 1 and that to finish on time I need to do 1,830 words per day. I can do this. Less than 10,000 words remaining and I will have reached my goal. However, my novel is nowhere near the end, but that’s okay.

This has been a rough journey. Many ups and downs. Life kept getting in the way and there were days where I didn’t do any writing and then there were days when it felt like I wrote all day long.

So far, this has been the best NaNo yet for me.

Still Writing,

2012 NaNoWriMo – Day 18

I know, I have been M.I.A. for several days and I truly apologize. But, I’ve been working my butt off trying to catch up on my word count for NaNo.

I am determined to get to my 50,000 word count by November 30. I know I can do it and I will. I did have a VERY busy week at work last week but was still able to get a lot of writing done.

The week ahead should be a very productive one. The kids are at their dad’s until the 25th and my class ends on the 21st.

Current progress – 25, 230 words. Gotta get back to it, I’m 4,770 words away from where I should be today.

Keep Writing,

2012 NaNoWriMo – Day 13

I’m catching up! (Doing my happy dance)

Yesterday NaNo stats said I’d be finished by January 10, 2013 at the rate I was going. Today, it’s saying December 16. I did over 5,000 words yesterday and I’m already over 2,000 today. I’m catching up. Now I’m only 7,632 words away from where I should be today. By this weekend I will be all caught up and right on schedule.

But, at the same time (hee hee) I haven’t started on my homework for the next week. I’ll get to it, soon. I just wanted to get as much writing done as possible.

And, I’ve been working on a Chicago Bears quilt with my mother as a Christmas gift. We were trying to get it completed by Thanksgiving so that we can hand it off to have the backing put on. So a lot of the next few days will be spent on that project as well.

But since I’ve been giving my time to God first thing in the mornings, I’ve been getting so much more accomplished.

Keep Writing!

2012 NaNoWriMo – Day 12

It’s day 12 already?! What happened? I really thought it was only day 10 today. Ugh…time is going by too fast and not enough writing is getting done.

I’m more than 11,000 words off from where I should be today. NaNo says at this rate I won’t finish until January 10, 2013. Well, I guess it’s up to me to prove them wrong.

I’m still writing away and I still have lots of hours left today. My current class ends on Nov 21 and the next one doesn’t start up until Nov 29. That’s a whole week to get some writing done and not have to worry about homework.

January 10 – ha, whatever. This sister will have her 50,000 words completed by Nov 30 thank you very much.

Write On,
